Pakistan Post launches mobile service for Pindi residents

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Post has launched a mobile service for the residents of Rawalpindi city in the wake of road closures and obstacles due to the construction of GPO Chowk Underpass on The Mall and other development works.

Chief Postmaster Asma Noreen inaugurated the service at a ceremony here on Thursday.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms Noreen said service was being launched on the demand of the public, especially the business community, so that the postal services required by the public from different areas could be provided uninterruptedly in the nearest areas.

She said urgent mail service, cash on delivery, registry and parcel booking facilities would be provided at the mobile counters.

These mobile vans providing postal services to the people will initially station at four designated places at Chuhar Chowk, Chungi No 22, Liaquat Bagh and PC Hotel.

The services will be available from 9am to 4pm. According to the Pakistan Post officials, the number of services could be increased in view of the needs of the customers.
