Celebratory fire leaves two injured
KASUR: Chunian police lodged a criminal case against two wedding guests and arrested one of them for injuring two labourers during a jubilation fire in Arzanipur village on Thursday.
Police said unidentified wedding guests resorted to firing to rejoice the wedding of a relative on Wednesday night.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspects were under the influence of alcohol.
Due to firing, two labourers, Ghulam Bari and Amir, who were erecting tents at the venue, suffered injuries and were taken to a hospital in Deepalpur. However, Deepalpur hospital referred them to Chunian due to jurisdiction.
Police later claimed the arrest one of the suspects.
ROBBERS: Villagers held two robbers and handed them over to police on Thursday, in village Arzanipur, in the limits of Chunian police.
According to police, two robbers stormed into the shop of Malik Rasheed and held him and customers at gunpoint. Meanwhile, a boy raised an alarm that alerted the villagers. The robbers tried to flee but villagers chased them and eventually caught them.
The villagers gave them a sound thrashing and later handed them over to police. They were identified as Kalas Nau and Habibur Rehman of Baqapur.
