The death toll since Israel’s onslaught on Gaza began in October 2023 has killed 50,399 people — the majority children, women and the elderly — Al Jazeera says, citing the enclave’s health ministry.

Israel has intensified its air strikes throughout Gaza since breaking the ceasefire with Hamas on March 18. At least 1,042 Palestinians have been killed since it restarted the bombardment, the report added.
