Five killed over petty dispute in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: Five people were killed and one was injured when rival groups exchanged fire just before Iftar on Monday over a petty dispute in Ababakri locality here.

The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Tarnab police station.

Residents said relatives of Zulfiqar alias Zulfi Advocate and sons of Khaista Gul exchanged hot words over a petty dispute of putting charpoy (cot) in front of a shop in Ababakri locality.

Afterwards, both the sides took arms and started firing on each other, and as a result, two brothers, Safdar Khan and Hazrat Ali, were killed, while Suliman suffered injuries from one side.

Zahid, Niaz Mohammad and Asim from the second group were also killed in the shootout. The bodies and the injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital, Charsadda.

The Tarnab police officials rushed to the site of the incident and collected evidence.

The police registered report and started investigation.
