Two suffer burns in LPG cylinder blast in Sahiwal

SAHIWAL: Two men suffered critical burns when a cylinder exploded at a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) outlet at Ada 89/6-R on Thursday.

As per Rescue 1122 officials, Abdul Manan (35), who runs an LPG outlet, was refilling a cylinder when it exploded, causing a fire.

As a result, Manan and a customer, identified as Ali (18), who was in the shop, suffered critical burns.

On being informed of the incident, a Rescue 1122 team reached the spot and extinguished the blaze, preventing it from engulfing other shops.

As per locals, the blast allegedly occurred when some one threw burning butt of a cigarette in the shop.

As per rescuers, both men sustained third-degree burns and were shifted to the Sahiwal Teaching Hospital for treatment.

ARRESTED: Police claimed to have arrested two suspects in separate incidents for allegedly subjecting their wives to torture.

In the first incident, Abdur Razaaq, a resident of 71/4-R, allegedly tortured his second wife, Yasmeen and locked her in a room for two days after cutting her hair.

As per locals the suspect and his first wife Jannat Bibi would maltreat Yasmeen and had taken away her minor son.

Police booked Razaaq, Jannat Bibi, and his brother Ashfaq under sections 354 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and arrestsed the prime suspect.

In the second incident, a suspect, Nasir Ahmed, allegedly tortured his wife, Parveen, at 169/9-L village and locked her in a room in their house.

After hearing her cries for help, some locals reported the matter to the police. Ghaziabad police rescued Parveen and arrested Nasir.
