LAHORE: As many as 2,223 degrees were awarded in 27th convocation of University of Central Punjab that started on Saturday.
The degrees included 23 PhDs with one Roll of Honour and a Certificate of Merit while 251 position holders were awarded with medals.
Syed Umer Farooq Bukhari of Faculty Pharm D received Roll of Honor and Muhammad Subhan got Certificate of Merit. The convocation ceremony, held at the UCP campus on Saturday, comprised four sessions.
Mian Amer Mahmood, chairman of the UCP Board of Governors, was the chief guest at the inaugural session. Other attendees included UCP Pro-Rector Dr. Hammad Naveed, industry experts, deans, directors, students, and their parents.
Mr Mahmood congratulated the graduates and acknowledged the efforts of their parents. He announced an interest-free loan of Rs10m to support start-ups and encourage students to benefit from the Punjab government’s start-up scheme.
Pro-Rector Dr Hammad Naveed highlighted UCP’s state-of-the-art facilities, modern laboratories and research-driven environment, emphasizing their role in nurturing critical thinking and innovation among students.
