RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued notice to the chief executive officer (CEO) of an illegal housing scheme, Park View City Phase-II.

A spokesman said the action was taken due to the illegal marketing, advertising, booking of plots and ongoing development activities being carried out without approval from RDA.

He said these activities were in direct violation of Section 12(5) of the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976, and Rule 4 of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021.

Unapproved development of projects poses a threat to urban planning regulations and undermines local laws intended to ensure orderly growth of housing schemes.

RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza emphasised the importance of adherence to legal procedures. No project can begin marketing, development, or plot bookings without prior authorisation from the relevant authorities.

All housing schemes must comply with the due process and obtain the necessary approvals from RDA to prevent illegal construction and ensure proper urban development, she said.

She directed RDA to take strict measures against illegal advertisements and marketing. FIRs will be filed against the owners of these illegal land subdivisions.

She said developers were unlawfully advertising their schemes and offering to sell plots without obtaining approval from RDA.
