AIOU’s admission schedule issued
GUJRANWALA, Feb 5: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has issued the admission schedule from matric to MA classes.
Local AIOU regional director Prof Tariq Kamal Bhatti inducted district coordinators at each district to provide admission forms, names of tutors and other information to students with regard to examination and other matters here on Monday.
He said the admissions had been started from Feb 1 which would continue till March 5.
The nominated district coordinators are Mian Abdul Rehman Qasir, Mohallah Ghausia, Jalalpur New Hafizabad, phone (400212); Chaudhry Amanat Ali, Government Zamindar High School, Gujrat, (524837); Chaudhry Ashraf Ghumman, Government Elementary College, Narowal, (410256); Bashir Ahmad Gujjar, Government Sir Syed High School, Mandi Bahauddin, (507760) and Muhammad Tariq, Government Jamia School, Sialkot, (588560).
He said the students of Gujranwala district could contact regional directorate, Gujranwala, on telephone 9200261.
DIES: A traffic challan clerk who sustained serious injuries in a road accident near Eminabad a few days ago died at the local DHQ Hospital here on Monday.

SUICIDE: A jobless youth committed suicide by taking poisonous pills in Garjakh here on Tuesday.
Ashfaq took poison following a quarrel with his parents over pocket money. He died while being taken to hospital.
SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead by dacoits during an abortive dacoity bid in Pasban Colony here on Tuesday.
Shahzad and his wife were on their way to a doctor’s clinic when they were intercepted by two robbers. On resistance, the intercepters opened fire on Ashfaq, injuring him seriously. He died on the way to hospital.
POLICE CLAIM: People’s Colony police claimed on Tuesday having busted five members of a gang of dacoits and recovered looted goods and illicit arms from their possession.
Those arrested are ring leader Nobin, Wajahat, Husain, Saleem and Rafiq.
Police recovered three pistols and stolen car from their possession.
