Pakistan lose again in PD Champions Trophy
COLOMBO: Pakistan’s physically disabled cricket team suffered their second consecutive defeat in the PD Champions Trophy, going down by five wickets to India at the BOI Cricket Ground in Colombo on Thursday.
Pakistan PD captain Abdullah Ijaz elected to bat, but despite a solid 138-5 in 20 overs, his team failed to defend the total. Saifullah top-scored with 58, while Mohammad Noman made an unbeaten 45.
India PD replied strongly, with Rajesh Kumar’s match-winning 76 guiding them to 142-5 in 18 overs.
Ghulam Muhammad and Waqif Shah took two wickets each for Pakistan, but couldn’t prevent the defeat.
The loss leaves Pakistan struggling in the tournament, with just two points from four matches.
They must now win their remaining matches against England and Sri Lanka to stay in contention for a spot in the final.
