Crackdown on liquor sellers
TOBA TEK SINGH: Police initiated a crackdown on liquor sellers to prevent the supply of toxic liquor to Christian localities ahead of Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The operation follows the tragic death of over 45 people in 2016 due to poisonous liquor consumption in Mubarakabad, Toba Tek Singh. The police reported the arrest of a dozen drug peddlers and the recovery of hundreds of bottles of imported wine, thousands of litres of local liquor, and several distilleries.
In Gojra, four liquor sellers were arrested with a haul of liquor, ice heroin and hashish intended for sale in Christian areas.
