PDWP approves 10 development schemes
LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Tuesday approved 10 development schemes worth Rs20.676 billion.
These schemes were approved at a meeting held under the chairmanship of P&D Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan.
The approved schemes include: construction of a flyover at railway phatak, Chak RS, Shujabad Expressway, Multan district, at a cost of Rs1.505 billion; rehabilitation of Sangala Hill to Sukheki Road in Nakana Sahib district at a cost of Rs1.625bn; rehabilitation and improvement of Bhera Bhalwal (L=25.22km) in Sargodha at a cost of Rs1.095bn; reconstruction of the road from Hafizabad to Sukheke Mandi in Hafizabad district at a cost of Rs976.975 million; improvement of roads from MC Limits upto Ring Road, Faisalabad, (road work) length 22.67km, Faisalabad, (A) Faisalabad Jaranwala Road (L=3.62km); (B) Faisalabad Satiana Road, (L=7.54km; (C) Faisalabad Jhang Road, (L=7.10km); (D) Faisalabad Sammundri Road (L=3.36km) at a cost of Rs1.412bn; rehabilitation of road from Nankana Sahib to Shahkot in Nankana Sahib district at a cost of Rs2.328bn; rehabilitation of Jhang Gojra Road at a cost of Rs1.655bn; reconstruction / rehabilitation of Khurrianwala Jaranwala Road (L=23km), Faisalabad, at a cost of Rs874.476m; construction of new campus of the Government Engineering Academy, Punjab, at a cost of Rs1.617bn and the provision of infrastructural, academic and operational facilities to the Punjab University of Technology Rasul, MB Din, at a cost of Rs7.584bn.
The meeting was attended by P&D Board Secretary Dr Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, board members and other senior officials.
