Woman ‘gang raped’ in Wah Cantt

TAXILA: A womanwas allegedly gang raped by four persons in the limits of Wah Cantonment police station, police sources said on Monday.

The victim reported to police that she came from Kahuta to meet her sister in Wah and was going to hospital for kidney treatment when a man on the pretext of taking her to hospital took her to his house where four persons after consuming her toxic cold drink raped her.

Police have registered a case against the accused under section 376, 375-A Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and launched further investigation.

Meanwhile, a man was killed while two others were injured in a passenger van- rickshaw collision near Sadqal on Rawalpindi-Fatehjang road near Fatehjang on Monday, police and rescue sources said.

According to sources, the passenger van while overtaking collided with the rickshaw coming from the opposite direction. As a result the rickshaw driver died on the spot while Zaffar and one woman identified as Muzffar Bibi were injured.

The injured and dead were shifted to FatehjangTehsil Headquarters Hospital. Police have registered a case and launched further investigation.

Separately, police have launched a crackdown on drug peddling in Attock distric on Monday leading to major seizures and multiple arrests.

The police spokesman said that during the crackdown, Bassal police arrested Mohammad Nabeel and recovered 1.42 kilogram hashish from his possession, Attock Khurd police nabbed Ishtiaque Shah and recovered 1.80 kilogram hashish besides 50 grams crystal methamphetamine (ice) from Nauraiz Khan. The Fatehjang police recovered 1.28 kilogram hashish from Auragzaib Rafiq while Hazro Police arrested a man and his son for drug peddling after recovery of 2.90 kilogram hashish and 100 gram heroin from their possession.

Police spokesman said that acting on a tip-off two men were arrested supplying narcotics in the Syedhaun area on their motorcycle and during search recovered narcotics from them.
