Brother, nephews accused of murder over land dispute

TOBA TEK SINGH: A man was allegedly murdered by his younger brother and two nephews over a dispute regarding a residential plot in Chak 297-GB on Saturday.

According to Toba City police, Muhammad Saleem, 65, was injured after being attacked with bricks and sticks by his brother Muhammad Jamil and Jamil’s two sons.

Saleem was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police are conducting raids to arrest the suspects.

DEATH SENTENCE: Jaranwala Additional District and Sessions Judge Azhar Iqbal Ranjha sentenced Mukarram Khan to death and imposed a fine of Rs1 million in connection with a murder case.

His son, Shaukat Ali, received a life sentence along with a fine of Rs500,000.

The court acquitted four co-accused, Basit, Israr, Khurram, and Amin, citing lack of evidence.

All were initially arrested by Jaranwala Saddar police on July 25, 2023, for the alleged murder of Mansha Khan in Chak 121-GB due to an old enmity.
