Doctor fired for harassing two dialysis technicians

RAHIM YAR KHAN: A medical officer (MO) at a welfare trust hospital, owned by a private company, was terminated from service following allegations of harassment made by two female dialysis technicians, according to an official inquiry.

In a statement released by the Deputy Director Public Relations on Saturday, two female technicians from a trust hospital in Sadiqabad tehsil accused a doctor of harassment. The victims filed a complaint with the deputy commissioner’s (DC) office.

Following notice and instructions from DC Khuram Pervez, the technicians submitted an application to the Anti-Harassment Unit in the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue.

ADCR Qandeel Fatima Memon summoned the technicians, and their in-charge MO for a hearing at the hospital.

During the hearing, evidence from both parties was reviewed and information was collected from hospital staff.

The doctor could not defend himself. The inquiry committee recommended termination of the doctor from service.
