Two diplomats among seven awarded honorary PhD degrees

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has awarded honorary PhD degrees to seven persons, including the consuls general of Iran and Bahrain, for their contributions in their respective fields.

According to a press release, the degrees were conferred on Iran’s Consul General Hassan Nourian and Bahrain’s Consul General Abdullah Ahmed Buqhous, first woman president of any Pakistani bank Akram Khatoon, former federal minister and chairman of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Haji Hanif Tayyab, renowned noha khwan Syed Nadeem Raza Sarwar, academic Farhan Hanif and former caretaker minister Arshad Wali Muhammad at a special convocation of the Jinnah University for Women held at the Governor House.

Speaking on the occasion, the governor congratulated the honorary doctorate recipients for their remarkable achievements in various fields.

He acknowledged their outstanding efforts in enhancing bilateral relations and fostering national unity through their exemplary service and advancing the vision of national progress. Their efforts to promote dialogue, resolve conflicts, and address global challenges have set remarkable standards, he said.

Awarding honorary doctorates is a reflection of their accomplishments and the values they represent, he said.
