LAHORE: A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court challenging the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Lahore chapter President Imtiaz Mahmood Sheikh.

Saima Imtiaz, the wife of the PTI leader, filed the petition through Advocate Azhar Siddique assailing the arrest of her husband in old cases after a delay of one year.

She questioned what necessitated the arrest after such a long time.

The petitioner asked the court to summon the reasons for Sheikh’s arrest from the government. She also urged the court to summon details of the cases against her husband.

She sought court’s permission to array NAB as a party in the petition seeking details of the cases against Imtiaz Sheikh.

The petition appeals for NAB to be included as a party to the application for obtaining details of the cases against Imtiaz Sheikh.

Meanwhile, Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi would take up on Monday a petition challenging the detention of PTI-Gujrat chapter President Saleem Sarwar Jaura.
