ISLAMABAD: The Mutahidda Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has announced that it will move court in the United Kingdom to get back party’s properties worth billions of rupees.
“We are going to move the court to get these properties, which basically belong to Shuhada (martyrs) of MQM,” said MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar in a press conference on Wednesday.
Flanked by Muttahida chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, he said the party would fight for rights of its workers and martyrs. The money to be received by selling these properties would be spent for the welfare of party workers, he vowed.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Siddiqui said there was only one MQM in Pakistan and all the properties purchased in the name of MQM belonged to the party.
He said what matters is not the worth of the properties but their ownership, as the same belonged to the party and its martyrs.
The MQM chief said the properties belonged to Shuhada of the party. “Therefore, we are going to wage a legal fight to get these properties,” he reiterated.
He said it was their unwavering decision that the MQM-P had no link with those sitting in London. “The decision will never change,” he remarked.
