NAROWAL: Two suspects were killed and a police constable was seriously injured in alleged encounters in Sialkot on Saturday.

According to Sialkot district police spokesman Najam Faraz, Hajipura SI Asghar Khan was going to conduct a raid in Daska along with police force. Two citizens, Sunny Shafiq and Muhammad Owais, stopped the police near the petrol pump on Daska Road and told them that unknown robbers had looted them.

The police team chased the robbers along with the citizens. The robbers started firing at the police. Police constable Salman Ali was seriously injured in the firing by the robbers. One of the suspects was killed in the retaliatory police firing. DPO Muhammad Hassan Iqbal immediately reached the spot along with a number of police personnel.

The DPO formed raiding teams to arrest the other suspect. The injured police constable was immediately shifted to the government hospital for treatment.

In another incident, Nazim Shehzad, a citizen, had got a murder case registered against his opponents who had threatened him many a times for reconciliation.

According to the police spokesperson, suspects Razzak alias Kalu, Naveed alias Neda, Tahir Zaheer and two unknown men came to Nazim’s outhouse. As soon as the suspects came, they started firing and Razzak was killed in firing by his accomplices. Sambrial police have registered a case.
