Tevta employees protest BoD decisions

PESHAWAR: The employees of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) on Tuesday staged a protest against the decisions taken at the 21st meeting of the board of directors.

They demanded the provincial government to review the decisions.

Tevta employees’ representatives Khushal Khattak and Ziaur Rehman insisted the decisions of the board were against the interest of employees and the organisation. They added that the agenda presented in the 21st meeting of the board of directors on May 3 was controversial.

They warned that Tevta employees would extend the scope of strike to 107 colleges across the province if their demands were not met.

Mr Khattak said the provincial government should increase Tevta budget, restore the head office allowance and ensure payment of arrears.

He demanded rationalisation of employees as per existing laws, regulations, increasing allowances in proportion to the prevailing inflation, cancellation of all the decisions of the 21st board meeting and reconvening the meeting with agenda points passed by the sub-committees.
