Kazakhstan GP postponed
ASTANA: The inaugural Grand Prix of Kazakhstan scheduled for June has been postponed until later in 2024 due to severe weather and flooding across central Asia, MotoGP said on Friday.
The floods have caused 117,000 people to be evacuated, said Kazakhstan’s emergency ministry in April.
“It would not be responsible for MotoGP to add any additional burden on the authorities as they work to help the people affected,” MotoGP said.
The race was also cancelled last year due to ongoing works at the circuit near Almaty.Published in Dawn, May 4th, 2024
