LAHORE: “Days of agitation are over. The time has now come for students to take part in more constructive activities. They should devote all their time to their studies and endeavour to become useful citizens of Pakistan,” said His Excellency Khwaja Nazimuddin, Governor-General of Pakistan, presiding over the third day’s assembly of 57th annual session of the Anjuman Himayate Islam, Lahore, this morning [March 27]. “Pakistan needs men of sterling worth. We want men of high caliber. Mediocres cannot run our state. Our students cannot attain the expected heights and fully benefit from our educational institutions so long as they continue their political activities,” His Excellency added.

“In times of war it is but natural that the students should join the Armed Forces, but once the emergency is over they should return to their academic activities.

“It was a time of emergency when we called upon our students to participate in the national struggle for the establishment of Pakistan. Now that Pakistan has been established they should busy themselves with their studies in order to become rightful partners in the building up of Pakistan.” — News agencies
