Seven PTI activists held for violating Section 144

ISLAMABAD: The capital police registered a case and arrested seven members of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) after they took out a rally in the capital, despite a ban imposed on a gathering of five or more people, police said on Monday.

The police said that a gathering of 70 to 80 people carrying PTI’s flags assembled at Srinagar Highway near G-14 and blocked the road.

They had a loudspeaker installed in a vehicle and delivered speeches from there, they added.

Upon getting the information, the police contingent reached there and informed the gathering about the proclamation of Section 144 of CrPC in the capital, banning such activity, and they were also asked to disperse and open the road, but the gathering started pelting the police and public with stones.
