Nine arrested for using unfair means in police test

KASUR/OKARA: Nine persons were arrested for using unfair means and impersonating candidates in Okara and Kasur districts during the written test for the post of constables in the Punjab Police on Friday.

The written test was conducted for the post in various district of the province.

In district Kasur, B-Division police arrested three persons for impersonating candidates and using unfair means in the test that was held at the Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex on Khemkaran Road.

The B-Division police said the suspects had managed to pass through the verification process as well scrutiny done on their entry to the exam centre. One of the three candidates, Muhammad Afzaal, had failed the physical test but he had somehow prepared a fake letter and tried to sit the written test. Another suspect, identified as Aqrash, had appeared in place of the another candidate, identified as Atif, whereas Farhan had replaced Ameer Hamza in the written test.

In district Okara, three more persons were arrested by police for impersonating the candidates during the written test held at the Jinnah Stadium, District Complex.

The invigilators found three candidates -- identified as Ahmad Raza, Mazhar Hussain and Ahmad Ali—sitting the examination in place of the actual candidates to help them pass.

Similarly, three other candidates appearing for the post of constbles were arrested for using electronic devices. The candidates, identified as Khawar Abbas, Naveed Arif and Muhammad Israr, were found using prohibited electronic devices. The invigilators handed them over to Saddar police.
