RAWALPINDI: A young girl left her house after allegedly being scolded by her parents and was found killed in Azam colony Range Road on Thursday.

Emergency Services Rescue 1122 and the initial police report suggested that the victim had left her home in anger, but she did not return and was found dead.

Police said a resident of the area spotted her body with a blunt weapon wound on her head and informed her parents.

Later, the police and emergency services crew reached the spot and shifted her body to the District Headquarters Hospital for a postmortem.

Police said a murder case was being registered with the police.

Meanwhile, an under-trial prisoner managed to escape from the police custody when he was brought to the court of a civil judge for the trial in a murder case on Thursday.

Four police officials, led by a sub-inspector, were guarding the suspect when he managed to slip away.
