KARACHI: A man, who was arrested in a rape case, died under controversial circumstances inside the lock-up of the Mehmoodabad police station on Sunday.

SSP-East Syed Irfan Bahadur said that the 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his own daughter. The police produced the suspect before a court concerned and obtained his five-day physical remand that began from Sunday, he added.

He said that the police found the body of the suspect hanging in the lock-up. He claimed that the suspect committed suicide by hanging himself with the gate of the lock-up.
