Petrol pump robbed of Rs2.2 million
ISLAMABAD: As many as five robbers shot and injured two security guards at a petrol pump in the area of Lohibher on Thursday while looting cash amounting to Rs2.2 million, police said.
As per the police, two robbers, armed with Kalashnikovs, started firing and injured a security guard, Mohammad Ajmal, who sustained a bullet injury to his left leg.
Another robber, while snatching a 12-bore gun from his fellow injured robber, fired at the second security guard, identified as Rizwan, who also sustained a bullet on his left leg.
After injuring the guards, the robbers looted cash amounting to Rs40,000 from the cashier.
The other two robbers, during the search of the cabin, robbed cash amounting to Rs2.1 million and over Rs5,000 kept in the bags. Besides, they also took a digital video recorder (DVR) installed there and escaped from the scene with the looted booty on two motorcycles, the police added.
A case was registered at Kirpa police station against the robbers in response to the complaint lodged by the pump manager.
The robbers who resorted to firing were identified as between 30 and 35 years old, while the two who looted cash from the cabin were between 20 and 25 years old.
