Neglected road creates issues for residents, students

NAROWAL: The Old DC Office Road, spanning three kilometres from the Circular Road to the old DC office, has been in a state of disrepair for the past decade, causing problems for motorists.

Large potholes and puddles on the road are hindering smooth passage, making it troublesome for those commuting through the Officers Colony on the right and the Government Boys College playground on the left.

The absence of a regular sewage system has caused deep pits along the entire stretch of the road.

The Punjab Food Authority office and the Government Boys College of Technology are situated on Old DC Office Road, making it a pathway for hundreds of students from Narowal, Zafarwal and Shakargarh.

Students and businessmen visiting the Punjab Food Authority office face severe problems during rainy days, locals Muhammad Akram and Fayaz Ahmed said. Despite numerous requests to the deputy commissioner for road construction, the district administration has yet to take any concrete steps.

Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza assured a personal visit to the road and pledged to expedite the construction process with the soon-to-be-prepared feasibility report. Meanwhile, residents call on Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi to intervene promptly and address the deteriorating situation.
