Tank police claim recovering two polio officials

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Tank police on Thursday claimed to have safely recovered the remaining two abducted members of a polio monitoring team.

They said the recovery was made possible through the help of security forces, the district administration and local elders.

The police had already recovered a woman and a driver of the monitoring team from the custody of their alleged captors during a search operation conducted soon after their abduction on Oct 17. They were identified as Shaila Noor and driver, Waheed.

Four members of a polio monitoring team, including a driver and a woman official, were abducted by unknown suspects when they were going to Kadi Umar Khan village.

According to Tank district police officer, Iftikhar Ali Shah, the team had gone to the area without seeking security.

SP investigations, Tank Haji Nasir Khan, DSP Jandola subdivision Syed Marjan Khan, DSP headquarters Abdul Rasheed Khan and SHO Shaheed Mureed Akbar police station Abdul Ali Khan during a search operation recovered the remaining two abducted persons, Zulfikar and Shoaib.
