Man killed in clash during football match

LAKKI MARWAT: A man was killed and two others were injured when rival groups exchanged fire during a football match in Naserkhel area of Naurang town here on Wednesday.

The police said Sarfraz was killed and his brother, Naseer Mohammad was injured from one side, while Mohammad Wali sustained injuries from the other group.

Injured Naseer told the police that he his brother were watching the football match when their rivals, including Umar Ayaz and Naimatullah, came there and sprayed them with bullets. “As a result, Sarfraz died instantly, while I was wounded,” he claimed.

He told the police that his family had a murder enmity with the attackers. Meanwhile, Mohammad Wali, who was injured from the other side, told the police that he argued with Naseer while playing football at the village’s playground.

He said Naseer’s brothers, Sarfraz and Yousaf Khan, who were also watching the game, came there armed with weapons. He said then all the three opened fire, injuring him seriously.

The police said the deceased and the injured were shifted to a hospital. They added an investigation were underway after registration of separate cases.
