CRITICAL SHORTAGE

CRITICAL SHORTAGE: Insulin brand Humulin70-30 is currently not available in the market. This is a lifeline therapy for diabetic patients and the current spell of non-availability is bound to cause serious harm to the diabetics. The government and its relevant agencies should look into the matter and ensure the restoration of supplies.

CHANGE OF TEST CENTRES: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has done grave injustice to candidates by changing the test centres during the third phase of the general recruitment tests. The change has been made without the consent of the candidates, and when they approached the relevant offices for clarification, staff members at the FPSC did not cooperate at all. In fact, rude behaviour was all that the candidates returned with. The higher authorities should take notice of this injustice.

LAWLESSNESS IN SWABI: Killings and gunpoint snatchings have increased in Swabi. Every other person carries a weapon now. People, including policemen, have been murdered in the main bazaar in broad daylight. The ruthless murderers are so sure that they would never be caught that they do not even rush to leave the scene of the crime. They take their time, calmly threatening passers-by and witnesses. The authorities concerned should step forward and stop this wave of terror.

PRIZE SCHEME: Despite the suspension of the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) POS prize scheme for a long time, registered retailers have continued to charge Re1 per receipt, which is beyond comprehension. The single charge is insignificant, but collectively we are talking of hundreds of thousands of rupees here. The FBR should address the matter immediately.
