CM reviews pace of work on CBD project

LAHORE: Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Central Business District (CBD) project site here on Saturday to assess the pace of work on its second and third phases, besides the Main Boulevard linkage to Bab-i-Pakistan, Walton Road.

During the visit, the chief minister was briefed by the CBD Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Amin about the progress on the project. Executive Director (Technical) Riaz Hussain was also present.

“The CBD Punjab has embarked on the development of phases II and III, along with the establishment of a linkage between the Main Boulevard Lahore and Bab-i-Pakistan, Walton Road. The authority will construct flyovers at Ghora Chowk, Walton Railway Crossing and Bab-i-Pakistan, addressing traffic congestion issue at these points. A roundabout at Kalma Chowk will also be constructed,” Mr Amin said on the occasion.

He reiterated Central Business District (CBD) Punjab’s commitment to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects that will greatly benefit the people of Punjab.

Stressing the need for timely completion of the project, the chief minister emphasised the importance of providing maximum relief to the people.

He directed the authorities to ensure that the newly-constructed roads are wide enough to accommodate the increasing traffic load, a crucial consideration for enhancing transportation efficiency.

Earlier, the Mr Naqvi also visited the Shahdara Chowk project where Lahore Development Authority (LDA) officials briefed him.

Meanwhile, the LDA Director General /Lahore Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa presided over a meeting to review the pace of work on Lahore bridge, Samanabad-Gulshan Ravi and other projects.
