Only eligible health facilities to be issued licences: HCC

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission will grant licences to private hospitals after evaluating their infrastructure and facilities being provided to the patients.

It has asked all the healthcare outlets to fulfil the requirements as per the law so they could be issued licenses under which they could operate and provide services to the people, said a press release issued here on Thursday.

The HCC, it said, had successfully conducted assessment of North West General Hospital and Research Centre and Rehman Medical Institute and issued them licences after finding the services as per the law, it said.

The commission, the press release said, would make no compromise on issuance of licences and those fulfilling the prerequisites will stand eligible. The HCC, it said, was trying its level best to implement the relevant laws and regulations and enable the people to get quality services.

The commission reinforces the importance of obtaining licence to operate healthcare establishments legally, it said.

The assessments aimed at evaluating the hospitals’ adherence to healthcare standards and assuring the community of optimal care provision. Compliance with these standards is mandatory for obtaining commission’s licence, the press release said.
