Easter event held at YMCA
LAHORE: The Christians Journalist Association of Pakistan held a reception in connection with Easter at the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) where Additional Secretary Culture Nazia Jabeen was the chief guest.
Different issues were discussed at the meet, including certain discriminatory policies of the government for the minorities and the concerns of marginalised communities.
Ms Jabeen was presented with a bouquet and a cake was cut to celebrate Easter.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Jabeen said the government was very supportive to the communities and it would leave no stone unturned in addressing their issues. She further said the Information and Culture Department, through its different cultural institutions such as the Lahore Arts Council, Punjab Council of the Arts and the Punjab Institute of Language Art and Culture, were open to hold collaborative events with the Christian Journalists Association of Pakistan if the association was interested to hold any such event or any cultural activities. The welcome address was made by Emanuel Sarfraz.
