Cricketer Naseem Shah gives away food package to needy
LOWER DIR/BAJAUR: Pakistan cricket team’s fast bowler Naseem Shah distributed Ramazan food package among 300 poor families under the Shahid Afridi Foundation in his Mayar home town here on Sunday.
Earlier, the star cricketer was warmly welcomed by locals on his arrival at his native Mayar Jandol village.
The cricketer along with his relatives and friends also visited the grave of his mother and offered Fateha for her soul.
Also, the Al-Khidmat Foundation district president Hafeezullah Khaksar said the charity distributed food package worth Rs5 million among the needy people since start of Ramazan.
Talking to journalists in Timergara here, he said a total of 1,000 food packages and Eid gifts, including clothes and shoes, were given out to 200 orphans and 100 widows.
He said the AKF also distributed Eid gifts among 400 orphan boys and girls with the financial support of a Turkish organisation in Lower and Upper Dir.
In Bajaur, a charity on Sunday distributed Ramazan food package among the needy people in Bajaur tribal district.
A ceremony to this effect was held in Yousafabad area of Khar tehsil.
On the occasion, Naik Rahman, chairman of Jibran Welfare Foundation, said his charity distributed food items among the poor people throughout the year.
He said like in the past, his organisation had set a target of helping more than 500 families during Ramazan.
He said food package, which included wheat flour, ghee, sugar, pluses and tea, was being distributed among 300 needy families of the district.
He called upon the well-off people to extend financial support to the charity to provide succor to the needy people.
