Iran deports another 36 illegal Pakistani migrants

TAFTAN: The Iranian authorities on Thursday deported another 36 Pakistani immigrants who had illegally entered the neighbouring country.

According to officials, the illegal immigrants were handed over to the Levies Force officials at the Rahdari Gate on the Mir Javeh-Taftan border near Chagai district. Among the deportees, 28 migrants belonged to Punjab, five were from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two from Balochistan and one from Sindh.

Initial interrogation suggested that the migrants were aiming to reach European countries via Turkiye without legal documents to earn a better livelihood. They were arrested in different parts of Iran, the officials added. The detainees were later handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency for further interrogation.

On Wednesday, 33 illegal Pakistani migrants were deported the Iranian authorities.
