Headmaster, student shot at by sacked employees

BADIN: A disgruntled former employee along with his brother allegedly opened fire in a classroom of the Help Public School in Mohammad Siddique Gaho village near Pangrio town critically wounding the headmaster and a student of class-VII on Tuesday.

Pangrio SHO Moolchand identified the suspect as Ramzan Gaho who, he said, was aided by his brother, Noor Hassan. They were employed some time ago at the school, being run by the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) on a government plot, but were sacked on charges of theft and other irregularities, he said.

Students caught Noor Hassan when they saw his brother Ramzan firing upon the headmaster, Ali Hassan Gaho, said the police official.

Probably the attackers’ main target was the headmaster but the student, Arif, was caught in the crossfire, said eyewitnesses, adding that the injured were first taken to the Pangrio Rural Health Centre from where they were referred to Hyderabad Civil Hospital due to their critical condition.

The SHO said that the suspects were arrested and police deployed at the school

The suspects had earlier tried to create hurdles in the repair work being carried out at the school and threatened to get it stopped forcibly.

An FIR was yet to be registered, said the SHO.
