Inflated rate of subsidised flour resented

MANSEHRA: Leader of Oghi traders Sarbuland Khan on Friday alleged that the residents got subsidised wheat flour at the rate higher than the notified one.

He told reporters that as the fasting month of Ramazan was just around the corner, those managing designated sale points in village councils charged people Rs1,800 for a 20kg subsidised flour bag instead of Rs1,350.

Mr Khan said the food department had failed to ensure the smooth supply of subsidised flour to Oghi tehsil and therefore, sale points fleeced people.

“The deputy commissioner recently formed a committee headed by the assistant commissioner of Baffa-Pakhal to check the illegal practice. The domain of that committee should be extended to Oghi tehsil as well,” he said.

The trader leader demanded a smooth supply of subsidised flour to people during Ramazan.
