Unvaccinated traders sent to jail

ISLAMABAD: Senior Special Magistrate of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Sardar Mohammad Asif on Monday sent nine traders to jail for running businesses without getting vaccinated against infectious diseases.

Those jailed for three days under Pure Food Ordinance 1960 included grocery shop, bakery and hotel owners and barbers.

The magistrate said residents of Islamabad could not be left at the mercy of unvaccinated traders.

He said despite warnings, traders did not bother to get themselves vaccinated, therefore, they were being jailed for three days.

Officials said the nine traders did not get vaccinated therefore their cases had been sent to the magistrate.
