Caretaker cabinet members allotted portfolios

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker government has assigned portfolios to 14 member of the cabinet.

A notification issued by the cabinet wing of the administration department stated that under the sub-rule 4 of the KP Rules of Business 1985, the caretaker chief minister has assigned cabinet berths to the ministers.

It said that Syed Masood Shah has been allotted portfolios of establishment and administration and inter-provincial coordination departments. Similarly, Abdul Haleem Qusriya has also been given two charges of the agriculture and livestock, fisheries and cooperative departments.

Besides, Shahid Khan Khattak has been made minister for transport and mass transit and science and information technology departments while retired justice Qaiser Irshad has been entrusted with the charge of law and parliamentary affairs and higher education departments.

Mohammad Ali Shah has been given the charge of the communication and works department.

Similarly, Bakht Nawaz Khan Thakot has been made the minister for climate change, forestry and environment department while Manzoor Khan Afridi will oversee the excise and taxation and labor departments.

Adnan Jalil has been given the charge of industries, commerce and revenue departments while Haji Mohammad Ghufran has been made minister for mines and mineral development department.

Similarly, Hamid Shah will oversee the affairs of public health engineering and planning and development departments while Shafiullah Khan has been given the portfolio of housing and prison departments. Sawal Nazir Advocate has been allotted the charge of local government and rural development department.

Haji Fazal Elahi has been given the charge of food and irrigation departments and Taj Mohammad Afridi will be minister for relief, rehabilitation and settlement department.

On the other hand, Khushdil Khan Malik, one of the members of the caretaker cabinet has not been allotted charge of any ministry.
