Ex-minister seeks accountability of Tehreek-i-Insaf leaders

MARDAN: Former federal minister Khawaja Mohammad Khan Hoti here on Sunday demanded accountability of leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and Pakistan Democratic Movement before the next general elections.

Talking to journalists in Mardan Press Club, he alleged that leaders of all political parties were only eager for power as they were not serious to resolve issues and problems of people.

He said that the policies of PTI government and incumbent rulers ruined economy of the country.

He said that both the previous and present rulers failed to control price hike and improve national economy.

The former minister said that most of the people in the country were living below the poverty line as the unprecedented price hike affected them badly. He added that the recent hike in prices of petroleum products would further increase prices of daily use commodities.

Mr Hoti said that the present government was going to impose new taxes of Rs600 billion on people according to the conditions of International Monetary Fund. He said that the imposition of new taxes would be unbearable for people.

He said that despite fragile economy, the PDM government increased the number of ministers to 80, which was sheer injustice with people of the country.
