LAHORE: The administration of the Lahore Waste Management Company on Tuesday took action against absent and work-thieving employees by dismissing 320 officials from service.

According to a notification, the services of 122 regular employees were also surrendered to the MCL.

“The carelessness in the matter of cleanliness of Lahore city will not be tolerated. In the last 3 months, so far, 750 employees have been dismissed from service for stealing work and taking long leaves without notice,” said Ali Anan Qamar, LWMC CEO in a statement.

“Employees getting 30-consecutive-day leave without notice are to be removed from service,” he added.

He said the entire system of the LWMC is being digitised. Applications are being used to track field worker attendance and vehicle travel time to and from workshops.

“Digital registration of stock in the workshops has been formally started. All the workshops are being monitored with the help of modern CCTV cameras,” he maintained.
