DADU: Gorakh Hills received the first snowfall of the season on Friday night and Saturday attracting a large number of people to rush to the hill station.

According to Gorakh Hills Development Authority chairman Rafiq Ahmed Jamali, the minimum temperature in the region was recorded at -8 degrees Celsius, the lowest ever, during the last 24 hours.

He said snow covered the hills and rooftops of rest houses, huts and other structures, as well as roads and pavements in the region. An unusually big rush of tourists was seen on Saturday, he added.
