Three die in fog-related accidents

TOBA TEK SINGH: Three people died in two fog-related accidents on Sunday.

On Pirmahal-Samunri Road, two cars collided head-on near Chak 256 GB Philour and as a result, two car riders died and four others were injured.

Rescue 1122 said the deceased were identified as Moeez Hayat and Abdul Manan, both of Pirmahal, and were travelling in the same car, while the other four wounded shifted to DHQ hospital included Israr Shah, Huzaifa Naeem, Najmul Hasan, and Tasleem Bibi.

Also, at Faisalabad’s Samundari Road near D-Type Colony, a bus hit a motorcycle and left Danish Ashraf dead and pillion riders Waqar Ahmad and Akbar Ali injured. They were shifted to the DHQ hospital. All three belonged to Niamat Town locality of Faisalabad.

ROBBERY: On Sunday, robbers looted the passengers of a van and shot at and injured one of them in Gojra, near Chak 429 JB. The injured man, identified as 40-year-old Inayatullah, was taken to Gojra THQ hospital, where doctors referred him to Faisalabad Allied Hospital.

The police said three outlaws intercepted the van and snatched Rs700,000, mobile phones and other valuables from passengers.

Also, at Gojra dacoits shot and injured a motorcyclist over his offering of resistance. Muhammad Aslam from Chak 369 JB was a security guard in a factory and was on his way to the factory on Gojra-Khidder Wala Road when two gunmen riding a motorcycle intercepted and injured him.

He was admitted to the Gojra THQ hospital.

ATTEMPT: Jhang’s Ahmadpur Sial police foiled an alleged attempt at the kidnapping of a youth by three alleged kidnappers after a crossfire with them on Sunday on Ahmadpur Sial-Jhang Road.

According to a police official, the attackers suspected Muhammad Usama of posting an objectionable video of their relative girl online. They bundled Usama into their car when he was present at Kutchery Chowk and drove away towards Jhang.

On information, a police team pursued them near Chak 25 canal bridge, where suspects opened fire on policemen, who retaliated. Although the car was damaged, no one was hurt on either side.

Police arrested three abductors and recovered Usama from their custody. They were identified as Talha, Amer, and Usman.
