LAHORE: Conquest recorded a facile victory in the Golden Drift Cup run over 1200 metres during the Lah­ore Winter Meeting at the smog ridden Racecourse here on Sunday.

The bay thoroughbred-horse, Conquest, ridden by M. Hanif, took a commanding lead right from the start and led home to a comfortable four-length victory over stable-mate Silent Assassin to record his fourth win a career hit by injuries.

Hanif was involved in another successful action when he piloted home filly Borte, who register it’s maiden victory in fourteen outings to-date in the concluding race.

The Punjab Cup run over 1000 metres was won by favourite bay colt J.K to give rider Abdullah Aamir his second win who earlier led bay colt Mafnoor Jr to a one-length success over Lahori Prince.Abdullah completed hat-trick of victories riding home bay filly Sundari in the sixth race to improve his record and listed eight wins in the riding boy’s statistics table 2022-2023.

Meanwhile, LRC chairman Makhdum Syed Ahmad Mahmud told Dawn that his USA imported sire, Tybalt had died recently.

Tybalt had sired many dozen stake-winners, including important terms and classic race winners and also finished second in the Pakistan Derby.
