Wounded robbery victim kills suspect in Pirabad

KARACHI: A man gunned down an armed robber who shot him over resistance in Orangi Town on Friday, police said.

Pirabad SHO Mukhtiar Ahmed Panhwar said that Javed Wazir and his friend Hasan were sitting outside their home when three armed men riding a motorbike arrived there. Two of the robbers got off and tried to loot them while third one stayed on the bike.

As the victims put up resistance, the robbers opened fire and a bullet hit Wazir in the leg. Wazir pulled out his licenced pistol and opened fire on the suspects killing one of them on the spot while his two accomplices fled.

The injured and the body were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to fulfill medico-legal formalities.

The SHO said the police got some clues about the identity of the deceased suspect, who was said to be a resident of Fareed Colony and mostly lived outside his home.

Vegetable seller killed

A young man was shot dead near New Sabzi Mandi off Superhighway on Friday morning, according to police.

Sachal police SHO Gulbahar Rind said that 38-year-old Zafar Shah left his residence in Gulistan Society of Quaidabad, and was travelling in van to purchase vegetables from Sabzi Mandi.
