Woman held in man’s blind murder case

GUJRAT: The Mandi Bahauddin police claim to have arrested the culprit behind a blind murder case of a man and said the woman he was suspected to have an affair with turned out to be the killer.

Mandi Bahauddin District Police Officer (DPO) Anwar Saeed told reporters at a news conference that the police had found the body of a man, later identified as Tayyab Ali Qureshi of Kathiala Sheikhan, from a deserted place near a drain on Nov 21.

The police had lodged a case against unidentified suspects and started an investigation. Crime Investigation Agency Deputy Superintendent of Police Amir Shaheen Gondal had been tasked with tracing and arresting the culprits.

A police team later arrested a woman, Tehseen Fatima, of Hamza Town who the DPO claimed had an affair with the deceased for four years. However, she had got into a relationship with another man and the deceased was not ready to leave her upon which she planned to eliminate Qureshi with the help of her new ‘lover’, the officer claimed.

The woman administered a tranquiliser to Tayyab in a drink and along with her accomplice asphyxiated him. She later threw his body at a deserted place from where police recovered it, the DPO stated.
