Mathar appointed Nepra’s Balochistan member

ISLAMABAD: The government on Thursday appointed Mathar Niaz Rana as Balochistan ember to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) for a period of three years.

The post had been lying vacant for about a year. Mr Rana, a retired bureaucrat belonging to the defunct district management group (DMG) was chief secretary Balochistan before his retirement on reaching the superannuation age and had previously worked as federal secretary in-charge of the Ministry of Planning and Development.

He would act as member tariff and finance at the power regulator and would be entitled to a median of the salary structure along with prerequisites of MP-1 scale. With this induction, the five member Nepra still lags a member from Punjab — a post lying vacant for about two years.
