Orange Line operation remains suspended
LAHORE: The Orange Line Metro Train operation remained suspended on Monday for three hours following orders of the city district administration in the wake of a religious congregation on the eve of second death anniversary of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Khadim Rizvi on Multan Road – the route of the orange line.
“The orange line operation remained suspended from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. We were first conveyed by the city administration to slow down the operation, followed by another to temporarily suspend it,” an official source in the Punjab Masstransit Authority told Dawn.
However, the deputy commissioner termed the information in context with the time duration of suspension incorrect.
“It was stopped for half an hour during dispersal of the TLP crowd. Three hours is a wrong information,” he clarified, adding he didn’t pass any order on halting the operation for three hours.
