Mumtaz Zahra appointed FO spokesperson
ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Ministry on Friday appointed Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch as its spokesperson.
According to a notification, Ms Baloch has replaced Asim Iftikhar, who has been appointed ambassador to France.
Saima Sayed, serving as director general of strategic communications, has been appointed deputy spokesperson.
Ms Baloch has served as ambassador to the Republic of Korea, deputy head of mission at Pakistan’s embassy in Beijing, counsellor for political affairs in Washington and as second secretary at Pakistan’s permanent mission to the United Nations in Geneva.
Ms Sayed has served as counsellor at Pakistan’s permanent mission to the UN, first secretary at Pakistan’s high commission in New Delhi and second secretary at Pakistan’s embassy in Paris.
