Four gunned down in clash between rival groups

LARKANA: Four tribesmen were killed and eight were wounded in a fierce gun battle between rival groups of Jatoi clan in Bakht Ali Jatoi village in riverine area of Rustam town in Shikarpur district on Thursday.

Larkana DIG Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh said that the deadly clash between Kamalani Jatoi and Attrani Jatoi groups was offshoot of a running dispute, which had claimed lives of 40 people on both sides over eight to ten years.

Sources in police said that on Thursday the armed men of Kamalani Jatoi tribe attacked their rivals to take revenge for a fellow clansman killed 40 days back and killed an Attrani Jatoi man. The Attranis afterwards gunned down three Kamalani Jatoi men to exact the revenge for their man, said the sources.

The deceased were identified as Saindad aka Kuraro Kamalani Jatoi, 40; Sonaro Kamalani Jatoi, 28; Mehaar aka Bago Kamalani Jatoi, 30; and Raham Ali Attrani Jatoi, 50. Police said that Saindad was involved in 15 cases and carried head money of Rs4 million while Raham Ali was involved in a dozen of cases.
